Rhynchostylis

The Rhynchostylis is a beautiful orchid that makes breathtaking and long flower clusters. The colors of the flowers are usually pink, red, purple or white and there are also a lot of species that are scented. This tropical plant requires a little more attention and likes to grow in a lot of indirect sunlight. 

Although the care of this species can occasionally be a bit spicier, you will be richly rewarded with a beautiful exuberant flowering. 

The Rhynchostylis resembles the Vanda and the Aerangis in terms of growth. They all like an air displacement and high humidity. Moreover, these three orchid smells are often held as a hanging plant in a basket without a substrate. What makes the Rhynchostylis particularly different from, for example, the Vanda is the speed of growth. The Rhynchostylis grows a lot slower than the Vanda. And they are much less able to handle too bright indirect or direct sunlight.

Different types of the Rhynchostylis are partly used for medication and for example spasms. 

Many Rhynchostylis bloom in the winter months and spread an present perfume.
