Recent bekeken

Since 2005 we have specialized in the most special and rare orchid species. The Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum, Vanda and Cattleya are found in our extensive range, among other things. In addition to hybrid species, we naturally also have botanical orchids in our various collection.

Popular botanical species

Species that also occur in nature and have been created by natural evolution (and are therefore not specially grown), we call botanical species. This includes the Dendrophylax Lindenii (Ghost Orchid) or the Dendrobium Nobile. But also the Bulbophyllum Medusae or the Cattleya Labiata are highly sought after and popular botanical orchid species due to their special flower shape or the very lush bunches with scented flowers (such as with the Dendrobium Nobile). These are one of the most sought after and beloved botanical species that are often cultivated because of their beauty and unique characteristics. In our large assortment we also have continuous special and popular species, so we always have something that makes your orchid heart beat faster.

Popular crossings

For centuries, scientists, hobbyists and professional growers have been crossing species to grow a certain external characteristics in a species (such as a rare blue or black flower color). But there have also been all kinds of experiments from which a very nice species happened to arise. It is possible to cross some sexes, but also within a genus there have been all kinds of crossings over the years.

Symbol

The Vanda Miss Joaquim is a popular species that is even a national flower in Singapore. It is a cross between a Vanda Teres and a Vanda Hookeriana. This cross has beautiful, brightly colored flowers. That is why it is a real national pride for the population of Singapore. And so there are more nations and areas that have a certain orchid to identify with.

Novelty Phalaenopsis

The Phalaenopsis, Cattleya and the Paphiopedilum in particular are widely used to make crossings through the unique and special flowers that these genera can get through crossings. In the past, intersections with the Phalaenopsis orchid were worshiped in particular and certain species were even named "Novelty Phalaenopsis". If a certain type of butterfly orchid was called "Novelty", it was praised for its unique flower shape, color, patterns and sometimes also -scent.

Crossings with genera

Crossings with genera received new mixed names. For example, the intersection between a Rhyncholaelia, Laelia and Cattleya was named Rhyncholaeliocattleya (RLC.). These orchids usually have very large, striking and brightly colored flowers with often also a pleasant scent. They are very similar to the Cattleya Orchids.

Our range

In addition to chic white, blue and black orchids, we also have other popular species of these beautiful house plants, known for the flowers. Usually our range changes a lot, which means that we get more and more new popular but also rare species in stock. So there is some exciting to discover on our website almost every week. This way you can make your botanical dream reality.
