The Tolumnia is a predominantly epiphyticorchid genus which has many small colorful flowering species has. They are usually compact orchids, which grow recognizable flowers. The leaves grow fan-like. Naturally, this orchid occurs in Central and South America. Previously, these orchids were referred to as "equitant Oncidiums". In 1986, this orchid was separated from the large orchid genus "Oncidium". This orchid is nicknamed "Dancing-lady Orchid" due to its unusual flower shape. One of the most popular orchid from this genus are the Tolumnia Jairak Rainbow and the Tolumnia Red Berry.
