1. Malaysia

Malaysia is a country where Paphiopedilum in particular is common in the tropical rainforests. This is where the Paphiopedilum rothschildianum comes from: An iconic orchid that many orchid lovers have on their wish list because of its unusual petals.
In addition, you can also encounter the Dendrobium crumenatum here. A fragrant orchid also called Pigeon Orchid due to its beautiful white flowers, which give off a strong scent.

2. Thailand

Thailand is a very beautiful country in terms of culture, architecture, but of course above all nature. Thailand has very diverse flora and fauna, including more than 1,500 species of orchids. The national parks (Khao Sok & Khao Yai) are a must-see for nature lovers with distinct islands and caves and waterfalls.
The Vanda coerulea is Thailand's national orchid. The beautiful blue-colored orchid is a beauty to behold. At plant markets, chances are you can admire this orchid.
The Paphiopedilum hirsutissimum is a terrestrial orchid found in the forests of Thailand. This very special orchid grows at somewhat higher elevations and has a very distinctive appearance. Chances are you will see it for sale in a plant market in Thailand.

3. Indonesia

Indonesia is another beautiful country in Asia to visit as a lover of orchids and nature. Across the islands you will see different ecosystems that have formed, making each island a completely different environment.
Java, Sumatra and Bali in particular are wonderful places to visit. These are one of the most biodiverse countries with many beautiful orchid species. The rainforests and mountain areas are choking with orchids. It is highly recommended to brave this wilderness with a guide and immerse yourself in the beautiful tropical nature.
Orchids you can encounter in Indonesia are the Paphiopedilum javanicum, which grows in the forests of the island on Java, as well as the Phalaenopsis amabilis, which is the national flower of Indonesia. The amabilis can be found in the rain forests of Java, Sumatra and Bali.
