None are currently in bloom, but the Cymbidium blooms between October and March with proper care. They like to be in a cooler place in winter with lots of indirect sunlight. They are easy to care for and like a cooler spot. Anno 2024, this is very nice for people who like to turn down the heater to save energy costs. In fact, the Cymbidium orchid blooms longest at a temperature between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius. A perfect orchid for the bedroom or another cooler room. At temperatures above 23 degrees, however, the orchid will only be able to bloom for one to two weeks.
Black Cymbidium orchid?!
Moreover, did you know that super many colors have been bred by crossing on certain characteristics? For example, the Cymbidium Kiwi Midnight is almost black. Black is a very rare flower color in orchids. This gives an eerie effect, which is totally appropriate for Halloween this time of year!
