In our nursery we have various forms of one plant. Plants are living beings and so they are sometimes different. Variations in color and size are therefore possible.

The pictures shown with our products are sample pictures. These photos give a true picture of what the plant may look like when properly cared for. The specifications are leading for the plant received. Please read the characteristics carefully before ordering.

What are sample images?

We have an extremely large, extensive assortment with thousands of plants. In addition, because specific plants change in shape, color and size on a weekly basis, it is impossible for our small team to capture all specific plants. Each plant grows in a unique way, so it is perfectly normal that there may be differences in color, shape and size.

But because we do want to communicate clearly to you what to expect with a product, we have specifications for each plant that will give you a clear picture of what to expect.

It is therefore rare that you will receive the exact plant shown in the picture. If this is the case, it will be explicitly mentioned in the product description. Our goal is to ensure that you have a pleasant, green shopping experience and that you can shop with us worry-free.

For people who like to browse among the plants, we have a physical store. Check the contact page for opening hours and more info.

Description

This elegant Cymbidium-hybrid attracts attention with its soft hues and rich blooms. Cymbidium ‘Finger of Suspicion' is a cool grower that provides a wonderful color accent in the winter months, just when other plants are resting.

Origin

‘Finger of Suspicion' is a hybrid from cool-growing Cymbidium-lines, selected for its reliable flowering and graceful appearance. It is a cultivar developed for both the enthusiast and the collector looking for something special.

Features

The flowers of this cultivar are a striking soft pink color, with a fresh and bright appearance. The petals have a slight satin sheen and can range from pale pink to more intense pink depending on the light. The lip is lighter in color, with deeper pink to reddish markings in the center, providing a sophisticated contrast.
Each flower stem often bears 8 to 12 flowers and can grow up to 60 cm tall. A mature plant forms several flower stems at once, leading to impressive blooms in the colder months of the year.

Care

Light

Place the plant in a bright spot with indirect sunlight. An east or west window is ideal. In summer, the plant may go outside if protected from bright midday sun and rain.

Temperature

During the day, this orchid thrives best at temperatures between 18 and 24 °C. Flower establishment requires a cool period in autumn, with night temperatures between 10 and 14 °C. During flowering, low temperatures (12-16 °C) significantly extend the shelf life of the flowers, sometimes up to 10 or even 12 weeks.

Substrate

Use an airy and well-drained orchid substrate based on medium-sized bark. Avoid wet feet and ensure adequate drainage.

Humidity

A humidity of 50-70% is ideal. Spray the foliage regularly or use a humidifier if indoor air is dry, especially in winter.

Nutrition

During the growing season (spring to late summer), give diluted orchid fertilizer weekly. In fall and winter, feeding once a month is sufficient or can even be omitted temporarily.

Watering

Water as soon as the substrate is almost dry. Preferably use demineralized water or rainwater at room temperature. Do not leave water in the pot or saucer, as this can cause root rot.

Flowering

Flowering usually occurs in late fall or winter. Cool temperatures during flowering extend flowering time considerably. At a constant temperature around 14°C, flowering can last up to 8 to 10 weeks, making this cultivar ideal for the cooler windowsill or greenhouse.
