In our nursery we have various forms of one plant. Plants are living beings and so they are sometimes different. Variations in color and size are therefore possible.

The pictures shown with our products are sample pictures. These photos give a true picture of what the plant may look like when properly cared for. The specifications are leading for the plant received. Please read the characteristics carefully before ordering.

What are sample images?

We have an extremely large, extensive assortment with thousands of plants. In addition, because specific plants change in shape, color and size on a weekly basis, it is impossible for our small team to capture all specific plants. Each plant grows in a unique way, so it is perfectly normal that there may be differences in color, shape and size.

But because we do want to communicate clearly to you what to expect with a product, we have specifications for each plant that will give you a clear picture of what to expect.

It is therefore rare that you will receive the exact plant shown in the picture. If this is the case, it will be explicitly mentioned in the product description. Our goal is to ensure that you have a pleasant, green shopping experience and that you can shop with us worry-free.

For people who like to browse among the plants, we have a physical store. Check the contact page for opening hours and more info.

Description

The Hoya decipulae is a refined, rarer Hoya-species loved by collectors for its graceful growth habit and intriguing flowers. Despite its modest size, this plant manages to attract attention with ease when in bloom.

Origin

This species is native to parts of Southeast Asia, where it grows wild as an epiphyte in warm, moist forests. In the wild, it climbs up along tree branches, where its compact leaves and flowers stand out perfectly.

Characteristics

The leaves of the Hoya decipulae are relatively small, elongated and slightly succulent in texture. They are often close together, which contributes to the plant's compact appearance. What makes her truly special, however, are the flowers. These form in small umbels and appear almost sculpted: star-shaped, with sharply defined tips and a slightly convex center. The flowers are often cream to pale yellow with a subtle pink or lavender tone in the center, depending on the light. The shape is reminiscent of delicate porcelain stars, appearing almost unnaturally perfect. In bloom, this plant exudes a subtle, pleasant fragrance.

Care

Light

Place the plant in a bright spot with indirect sunlight. A few hours of morning sun is well tolerated.

Temperature

Ideally between 18 and 26°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Substrate

Use an airy, well-draining mixture based on bark and coconut fiber. Avoid dense potting soil.

Humidity

Humidity of 50-70% promotes both growth and flowering.

Nutrition

During the growing season, feed every 2-4 weeks with a balanced, diluted houseplant food.

Watering

Allow the substrate to partially dry out between waterings. Preferably use demineralized water or rainwater to avoid mineral accumulation.

Flowering

With proper care, the Hoya decipulae bloom several times a year. Give her time and rest: new flower heads often form on old flowering stems, so never cut them away. When she blooms, she surprises you with her sleek, geometric flowers that look as if they were handmade.
