In our nursery we have various forms of one plant. Plants are living beings and so they are sometimes different. Variations in color and size are therefore possible.

The pictures shown with our products are sample pictures. These photos give a true picture of what the plant may look like when properly cared for. The specifications are leading for the plant received. Please read the characteristics carefully before ordering.

What are sample images?

We have an extremely large, extensive assortment with thousands of plants. In addition, because specific plants change in shape, color and size on a weekly basis, it is impossible for our small team to capture all specific plants. Each plant grows in a unique way, so it is perfectly normal that there may be differences in color, shape and size.

But because we do want to communicate clearly to you what to expect with a product, we have specifications for each plant that will give you a clear picture of what to expect.

It is therefore rare that you will receive the exact plant shown in the picture. If this is the case, it will be explicitly mentioned in the product description. Our goal is to ensure that you have a pleasant, green shopping experience and that you can shop with us worry-free.

For people who like to browse among the plants, we have a physical store. Check the contact page for opening hours and more info.

Description

The Phalaenopsis Mini Mark is a beloved miniature hybrid that stands out for its unique color combination and compact growth habit. This orchid is the result of a careful cross between Phalaenopsis Micro Nova and Phalaenopsis philippinensis and is appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.

Origin

Although the Mini Mark is not a natural species, its heritage originates in Southeast Asia. Its wild ancestors are found in the Philippines and other tropical regions. This hybrid originated from an ambition to develop a compact, richly flowering plant with a natural appearance.

Features

Phalaenopsis Mini Mark produces delicate flowers with a snow-white background, contrasting with a vibrant orange lip and finely dotted sepals. The flowers are on long, graceful flower branches that often branch, providing rich blooms. The leaves are fresh green and relatively narrow, with an elegant stance.

A notable detail: Mini Mark is slightly cooler tolerant than many other Phalaenopsis-hybrids (which are often heat-lovers), which also makes her suitable for slightly cooler spaces within the home.

Care

Light

Place the Mini Mark in a bright location without direct sunlight. An east or west window is ideal.

Temperature

A daytime temperature between 20 and 25 °C is ideal, with a slight drop to around 17-19 °C at night. Temperatures below 15 °C can become detrimental to this species, however.

Substrate

Use an airy bark-based orchid substrate. Avoid compact material; the roots need plenty of oxygen.

Humidity

A humidity of 50-70% is appreciated. In drier rooms, a humidifier or a bowl of water nearby helps.

Nutrition

During the growing season (spring to fall), give orchid food in diluted form weekly. In winter, once a month is sufficient.

Watering

Dip the plant once a week in demineralized water or possibly clean rainwater and drain well. In cooler periods, watering may be needed less often.

Flowering

Mini Mark usually blooms in spring, but under ideal conditions it may bloom several times a year. Leave some of the flower branch after flowering; sometimes a new side branch forms from a dormant bud.
