The Calanthe has about 220 species currently. A nickname of this genus is Christmas orchid or Christmas orchid. In 1821, this orchid was first officially described by Robert Brown. This orchid occurs naturally largely in Southeast Asia. Popular species include Calanthe sieboldii, Calanthe triplicata and Calanthe Takane. What makes this species special is that it is an orchid for in the garden. So it is not necessarily a houseplant. This orchid is hardy to some extent, which means you don't have to practice your orchid hobby only indoors, but can also bring these special species into the garden. Put the flowers outside!
